About

My Story

My travel journey began with domestic flights across the United States to fulfill personal bucket list goals. That same year, I took four Caribbean cruises and embarked on an eleven-week road trip along the East Coast, which expanded from an initial five-week drive from Florida to Cape Cod to help build my driving confidence. Following the pandemic, I transitioned back to air travel before ultimately discovering my passion for international solo cruising.

To prepare for international travel, I first sailed to Alaska from Seattle, Washington, where I learned to manage flight logistics, boarding, and port connections through solo traveler programs. This was a helpful step, as I live near Tampa and Orlando, Florida, where I primarily sailed on Caribbean cruises. Since then, I have taken eight international solo cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line, visiting 24 countries and 70 ports.

I travel solo because I refuse to leave my bucket list unfinished, and I have found it to be the best way to see the world—on my own itinerary and at my own pace. Over time, I have learned how to navigate the industry to avoid single supplement fees, find dedicated solo cabins, spot flight deals, time bookings effectively, and gain genuine value, including lifelong friendships along the way.

I created Solo Cruising 101 to share what I have learned about traveling by car, plane, and ship, helping others explore the world on their own terms and budget.
